Keith Richards Rocks Out With Louis Vuitton

Two of my favorite things have finally united, Rock-n-Roll and Louis Vuitton. The leather clad, greasy haired, I can’t get no satisfaction guitarist Keith Richards has joined forces with French fashion house Louis Vuitton. The idea of this is genius… rock stars date models, models wear designer clothes, so to complete the circle of life it would only make sense to have a rock star in a designer ad campaign.

The Rolling Stones guitarist will be used for the new LV ad's. The “leathery” faced rock icon is photographed by famous portrait photographer Annie Leibovitz. In this edgy new ad Richards is playing a black guitar with a custom-made LV instrument case sitting behind him. The ad will read, “Some journeys cannot be put into words. New York. 3am.Blues in C”.

The idea for this campaign is to bring a “fresh” revamped appearance to Louis Vuitton. Fresh being the operative word since Richards face looks older than Louis Vuitton has existed. Whether or not Richards should invest in some major Botox and a tube of SPF 500 is not an issue for me, this in my opinion is one of the best ad campaigns that a designer has ever had. Not only is Richards pushing the luxe line of bags, he is raising awareness for Global Warming. The ultra cool rocker plans to donate all proceeds from the campaign to the Climate Project, launched by former Vice President and Nobel Prize winner Al Gore.

Some other iconic faces to grace LV’s past ad campaigns have been former Russian leader Mikhail Gorbachev, and screen sirens Catherine Deneuve, Scarlett Johansson and Uma Thurman.

Now I understand Deneuve, Johansson, and Thurman appearing in Louis Vuitton ad's but Mikhail Gorbachev I need an explanation for.

Maybe Tyra should have Richards as a guest judge on America's Next Top Model.
